The Rematch: Alex's 996TT vs. Darius' TT Viper (previously owned by Gary Javo)
 

As many of you know, Alex D. (Protomotive) previously lined up with a TT Viper owned by Darius (Gary Javo's former car). The video depicts Alex pulling away from the Viper: www.fasttrackperformance.com/page5/BBQ snake.wmv . Our dear friend DGussin posted the video on SVTPerformance.com, and it did not take long for ViperAlley.com to begin discussing it.

Not surprisingly, Darius, Gary Javo and others disputed the legitimacy of the race, claiming that Darius mis-shifted, the road was wet, other cars forced them to shut down early, etc. Darius posted a colorful rebuttal to the video on the SVTPerformance thread, which was subsequently cut and pasted on the Viper Alley thread. Darius went so far as to pejoratively accuse Alex of exaggerating the outcome and avoiding a rematch. Meanwhile, Gary Javo aggressively disputed the legitimacy of the video on the Viper Alley thread, accused Alex of inappropriately trumpeting the video, and urged a rematch. Gary guaranteed a different outcome if they raced again. The Viper Alley thread is particularly entertaining.


With Alex’s permission, I posted on Viper Alley that Alex was eager to run again. The response was respectful.


The rematch is TONIGHT!!!!! Alex and Darius have agreed to meet late tonight for their much anticipated rematch. No bull**** . . . no excuses . . . whoever is in front at the end is the winner, end of discussion!


An RX7 with an LS1 motor and nitrous is also supposed to attend. I am informed that the RX7 owner claims that he previously pulled Darius' Viper.


I am supposed to hear from Alex right after the race. Ill post the results as soon as I learn them.

i cant wait for this rematch! LOL i can see why teh viper was a little ticked, but those credits were great!

Both Gary Javo and Alex said they will have a surprise for one another. We'll see.

Dammm, i would love to see a full out race, but damm that turbo is sooo fasttt:D

I just got off the phone with Alex. Darius and Alex have met up and are waiting for the road to clear. They will probably go in about 35 minutes. They are going to do a 50 mph roll first. Depending on the outcome of that race, they may try something else.

Update: Alex pulled the RX7. One run with Darius from 85 mph . . . something went wrong (I didn't get the details, as Alex had to go) . . . they are on the side of the road discussing another race. More to follow.

Final update:

There was too much fog and both cars spun wildly . . . they both aborted and were not able to get a good run. They have agreed to meet again in a few days (hopefully the fog will be gone). Darius is going to put on drag radials.

I was there with them. The conditions really sucked.. It was hella foggy and there was a good amount of our friendly chippers around. It is going to be a good match when the conditions are right. Till then be :cool:
