Front fender liner turbo vs gt2

I know the gt2 front liners are better to direct air to the front brakes. For $200 a piece, has anyone considered cutting the turbo ones apart, covering the current vents and making it look like the gt2 with john's mod included? With the right plastic for patching, and some good rivet work, it doesn't look like that terrible of a job. I may try it out later this winter.

No reason this wouldn't work. Then modify the 997 GT3 brake spoilers(that mount near coolant hoses) to work on our car.

You need the "air ducts" too otherwise the air wont get to the brakes at all.

I bought a bunch of hpde plastic. I'll let you know how it goes

Please post pictures when you attempt this.

I modified the GT3 Mk2 ones to make them fit. It doesnt look good, but does the job. But i will buy the 996 GT2 ones, which will fit with slight modifications, as you can see on the pic...if you lean to the right a bit.:D

The 997 GT3 airducts are the cheapest. I paid $20 each I think. They can be modified to fit. I believe John (Pwderhpund IIRC) posted how to mod them to fit somewhere here.

I used 1/16" HPDE plastic from amazon. Only needed one sheet. I bought the grills to attach to the new cut out section like John's. However, I'm not sure I really need to add it. I may leave it alone.

So I trimmed it in place to get the most airflow I could. Here's where I finished.

This is how i get additional air to the calipers. using hoses from that opening and terminating at the calipers. crude but effective.
