do 996tt's burn oil ?

someone was telling me that p-cars burn oil like crazy.... and supposedly , you have to add a quart of oil to the car ever week or two...
sorry for the dumb question... but can someone confirm that this is NOT true for the 996tt ?

In my case this is true. The turbos use oil as well so hence you will be adding oil frequently. Definitely keep some on hand...

It depends on how much and how hard you drive the car. Mine burns about 1 qt. of Mobil 1 every 1000 miles or so. My old NA 996 was about the same.

Yes turbo's will and do burn oil-

It is not uncommon to go through a quart of oil every 1500- 2000 miles.

If the car is chipped it will most likely burn a little more also..

They burn oil depending upon how hard they are driven, and how carefully you break in the engine so that all the parts wear-in properly.

The TT burned a quart every approx 1k, gets a bit better as the car breaks in.

I burn a qt ever 1000-1200 miles, depending on how hard I drive.

I burn a Qt every 1800 miles. all the books and manuals confirm this to be correct. I also let my car idle down for 1-2 minutes before shutting down. that extends the life of the turbos as well lessens the oil consumption.

Whoever told you that is driving a pile of chit. I add one quart between oil changes like just about everybody else has said. Not a big deal. The car tells you when it needs it.

I drive mine everyday as well. It's been my daily driver for over a year. 1 quart every 1200 miles or so for me. I can't imagine a quart a week!

edit: just realized you have mods. This could be a reason. I'm just an ol stocker.
