A Turbo from Finland
A Turbo from Finland
Decided to make a new thread of this car...
The ex P-car was a lovely 996 Carrera MY02 with "all options" (except the ones that make you slower
)
Handpicked from Germany and then off to the Autobahn
A year later, after a longer trip to Nürburgring my old man decided to help me and my brother, and now we are lucky to be driving and "building" a 996 Turbo. The car's a '01 and bought with ~10k kms which is about 6k miles...
A bit some mod list:
The looks:
- Techart bodykit (front spoiler lip, sideskirts, side intakes and rear bumper add-ons, Type I carbon fibre wing)
- Techart Daytona 3-piece wheels made by Speedline (18" with Pirelli PZero Corsa tires)
The power:
- Techart Stage 2 (new software, modded K16's and new induction pipes, 530hp/740Nm), in addition also:
- Techart Racing Exhaust (200 cel cats)
- EVO V-Flow intake (thanks for the information here in 6speedonline!)
According to my friend's little film it does 100km/h-200km/h in 7.0 seconds... http://speedou.1g.fi/911Turbo.wmv (that was just a random acceleration...not really optimized
)
The handling:
- FVD/Bilstein PSS-9 (thanks for the information here in 6speedonline!)
- Pagid Yellow brake pads with Motul brake fluid
The interior:
- GT3 seats
- OEM shortshifter
The next item is a rear wiper delete from bumperplugs.com (thanks 6speedonline!)...Also roll bar and muffler bypasses for the track would be nice...tinted windows would be nice too but there might be some problems with the cops.
Now some pics,
In the autumn without the suspension etc:

Last winter it rested in a garage, this was her last trip before more snow:

(Porsche's are great and very enjoyable cars in winter with snow tires btw.!)

The pics are a bit dull because the spring (or summer
) hasn't really started yet here. I'll post some better pics after some track events.
Stay tuned also for a Nürburgring trip report in about month...

Anyway, thanks for the members here. Too bad viewing this forum is too expensive hobby...
But of course modding is cheaper than buying a new Turbo (costs $279k here with the taxes....btw. I would opt for the GT3 but that's not a car for some light winter use...)
Just before it started rain more,

Driving in the street,

First track day this year (1st of May)

A pic after that day...a bit dusty wheels,
