My car is finally back: Thanks EVO and MAXRPM!!
My car is finally back: Thanks EVO and MAXRPM!!
Hey guys, just got my car back after 2.5 weeks and am friggin' loving it
I upgraded from a stock X50 to the EVO stage 4 system a few months ago. The car seemed to run well, but never reached 1.2 bar and certainly wouldn't hold it. We finally got it on the dyno and it put down 450HP to the rear wheels initially then dumped to 400HP consistently. I was a little concerned.
Thank goodness for Alex at MAXRPM and the EVO boys. Alex and Todd put their heads together and did some diagnostics. They found a faulty "boost control module"? I think that's what they called it. I also had some boost leaks. Alex remapped the ECU (just in case). The module was replaced, the hoses were upgraded (Evo) and I also ugraded the wastegate springs (evo). The car dynoed 514HP to the rear wheels tonight. Alex uses a dynojet and says with their conversion factor, the car is easily 600HP at the the flywheel.
The interesting thing is that I took the car to my local dealer because I was worried about a boost leak before my upgrades. They did their $1000 30K mile check up and told me everything was completely fine. Oh well, maybe the extra power exacerbated the leak?
Anyway, my ***-dyno definitely agrees
It's not the same car. It spools instantly to 1.2 and holds it! All I can say is WOW this car is a rocket compared to stock. Thanks to Alex (MAXRPM) and Todd (EVO)..Cudos to you boys!!!

I used to have a slightly modded '01 Z06 and it would not have a chance against this car. It feels so fast....I feel like a little kid who scored huge at Christmas!
Congrats... good to hear the good news finally. I suggest everyone does a pressure test once a year. Be surprised what you find.

I need to take some driving lessons before I do that. The idea of crashing my beast scares the **** out of me!

You are right Mark. I know you suspected a boost leak from the get go. ever heard of the boost control module? Apparently, it was allowing the wastegate springs to open prematurely and I was losing huge amounts of power. Nice pick up by the tuning boys!
Sounds like the visit to Alex was all that was needed. Now you can enjoy your vacation and look forward to driving when you return. I'm talking to Alex about some work too, recommend?

Very nice! Almost identical to my stage 3 (stage 4 boosts a little earlier): http://members.dslextreme.com/users/...o/Dyno%20Runs/
