6speedonline's official 60-130, 1/4 Mile, and Standing Mile list
Absolutely. I'm sure that particular moment in time, if I was on any slope, I would have done better than a 6.61. Traction has ALWAYS been my nemesis. Getting warmer here, so I will be going out again here in a week or two.
You gotta come to Cali bro. I know this particular place with a nice 2.99 decline away from CHP and close to home
ON the speed way I hit a 6.3 which was flat with two shifts and with the 2.99 decline with one shift I hit the 6.14. Don't forget with two shifts you come at full boost but the trick remains in shifting again.

BTW, if you have brake boosting, you don't need 2 shifts
The temp here in Houston. It was about 60F. I need it to be in the 40's to improve my time any. Since everyone seems to be trying to use the -2.99% gradient to their advantage, cold temps and a 2% or better neg gradient would surely get my time lower than 7.92.
As Ben said, it will be another 6 months before temps get that low.

Kind of like looking for the most optimistic dyno, just to have a bigger number.
Cars run what they run.
For crying out loud, what happens when someone rolls up on you, are you going to say "hey, let's wait for about a mile, there's a nice hill coming!"
Not directed at you, TXGold, just at the mindset above, which does definitely exist.
Mr. Vrybad,
FYI: Scott had my time recorded as 7.3 on a 3.7% incline, 6.3 on a dead flat road, and 6.14 on 2.99 decline. Next time, I will make sure that you see a sub 5 on a flat road

I think it's kind of sad that people have to seek out the max downslope to get their best time.

Are you serious? That's what competition is all about...figuring out a way to go the quickest/fastest within the rules as defined. Just like ALLLLLLL the quickest/fastest passes are made in Maryland at the drag strip...there is no other strip in the US that runs like that and it happens to have a negative DA often coupled with good track prep...therefore resulting in people running their best 1/4 mile time. You think they don't count their time b/c it was run on a freakishly fast track? Of course they do... Same thing here.

It's like chasing a dyno number, that's my point.
I agree that there have to be "parameters" that need to be met, like the max 3% grade.
However, I, personally, do not chase that grade just to get a number quicker than the next guy.
In the real world, cars run what they run.
I can't see trying to find that grade just to pick up a tenth or two.
Again., when you meet up with another car for a highway roll, all that gradient data goes down the tubes.
I'd much rather know what my car runs on a fairly level surface, rather than try to fudge the numbers in my favor by finding the max downslope allowable.
But that's just me.
You can do it any way you'd like.
I ran a 7.19 on a 3.5% incline, but so far, a best of 6.89 on a 1% incline.
I'm sure you can best your current record with a little bit of tweaking.
I do see your point of view here but on the drag strip is where I hit the 6.3 from 60-130. Not to mention I even beat the new GTR skyline that was modified to 600awhp with a launch control they used. All the numbers I will give you which I have the back up from my files not to mention the videos. Where are you going with this? I just took out a proto 996tt K24/20G at 1.2bar. I have the video for the 650rwhp Viper as well or do you want the 700rwhp drag camaro with internals and meth where I was on stock internals with a passanger. Is that enough or should I go on? I don't want do disappoint here so just let go already.
Yeah, I'm serious.

You are not disappointing me, that's for sure.
You said you see my point, so what is the question?
