I knew I was going to track the car a lot, and the steel setup is so much cheaper. yeah, I think the lower rotational weight would have made at least a .1 sec difference.
hey its that 90 degree weather thats slowin you down. The launch is great and 99mph at the 1/8th is not bad too. You are only picking up 23mph on the back half which is when the car is really feeling heat. Hit the track when its 60-70 and not humid you will see 10s at 126+ guaranteed.
Yes, it's got GMG springs and heavier steel rotors; otherwise it's stock.
Just took my '11 Turbo S up to Friday Test and Tune at Route 66 Raceway. My first time at a drag strip; had a ball. It was about 90degF and humid. My car has about 7,500 miles on it and is probably a little slower than stock as I've replaced the PCCB rotors with Brembo steel rotors. Running Yokohama AD08 street tires my first and fastest run was 11.13s (see timeslip - I'm #168)
Taking a car to a drag strip and running the 1/4 mile is fun but it is more fun to me to roll race.
And 60-130 times are more indicative of the vehicles power and performance in every day situations.
Plus it is much easier to make a fast 1/4 mile car than a street car that can consistently perform on the road and at the track.
