6speedonline's official 60-130, 1/4 Mile, and Standing Mile list
Where's the 640 dyno sheet? No way you're making 640 and only running a 6.7 with a single 3-4 shift that my 7 year can make.
We all know you like to live in your own fantasy world, but if Peter ran you on kill mode with another 200+whp, he would have pulled away by a couple more bus lengths.
I wish it weren't the case, and maybe it will change at some point in the future, but there isn't a Porsche on this board that can stay within a bus length of a middleweight Supra from a 60 roll.

I updated the list with the unofficial times while I had some free time to view the forum. KPG will be verifying them and will let me know if I need to make any changes.
Congrats to everyone!
Congrats to everyone!
If we had a AEM plug and play with the ability to safely run just 30 psi I think we would give a run for the the money...
Yet I still think that we are doing OK runing 4.7s with 2 shifts instead of one liek the Supras do with only 1.4 bars and 800 rwhp. Thats not bad...

Scott,
Thanks for the props and for updating the list.
Jamie,
I am, admitedly questimating..but Marty is making 628 on K 24's (although he has the full Proto piping) and ran a touch slower than me. I will bet the bank I am making at least 630. In any event, since you are bringing your child into this discussion, do you think smoking like a chimney sets a good example for a 7 year old?
Mark,
I think your car or Eddie Bellos would be competative w/ Peters although he should get you by a bit. Of course, Peters Poopra is not the fastest out there. Tommy Bahn is making over 1400. I have to admit, pound for pound the Toyotas can't be beat on a highway pull.

What are you talking about, you claim around 600hp and he around 780hp on low boost, you lose by 6 or so lengths. If on high boost your car really did make 640hp and his 1000hp he would crush you by 15 or more lengths. Don't say you only lost by 6 lengths to a 1000hp supra because you are truely delusional if you think that is the case

I turned down my boost for the ride home. You turned down your boost. Both of us were running race gas. My car maxoes out at 640 but was making less...your car maxes out at 1K but was making less (I will bet more than 780 though).
Thus a 640 rwhp GT2 was pulled by 5 lengths by a 1k rwhp Supra. If I ran max boost and you ran max boost it would be the same. No need for you to qualify...my car also went into limp mode on the first time we tried to run (I am sure you noticed that I did not pursue) ... I shifted down to 4th (to less than 4 K rpm....) and nothing happened...she also went dead betwen shifts on the one where I was chasing you... and you pulled on me easily. However, I really didn't (and don't) need to start making excuses, I simply conceeded that you pulled me. Your car runs a 4.7 60-130, my car runs a 6.6.
You are the first guy to make excuses AFTER winning a race. Whats up w/ that?
Just say "yeah I pulled Sean's GT2 by 5 lengths...maybe even more...[you did pull me hard no doubt] from 80-155" and leave it at that.
Anyway, thanks for running a great show today...I had a lot of fun.

Supras are great cars but isn't this a 996TT Forum for their owners that are interested in modding there cars and sharing with other 996TT owners? No need to start bashing each other as it takes away from the forum. Theres plenty of Supra forums out there.
Again ...in a drag race most supras can be built to much higher levels and at a more inexpensive cost than the P cars but the feeling of driving the two cars is light years apart. Totally different animals but both great cars as all cars are lots of fun.Have a great time with your cars!.........Gman

Christian,
You seem to have lots of opinions but no confirmable evidence of actually having done anything. Hence I dub you king of bench racing.
The Supra is really a superior platform in terms of pure power for straight line racing: Cast iron block, no MAF, and (almost) unlimited boost potential. That is not even debatable.
However the Porsche is a much better all around car IMO...(track, drivability, etc.) Of course now I am beating a dead horse. In a perfect world I would have both my GT2 AND a 1200 hp Supra, but alas I must be greatful for what my higher power has given me.

pot, meet kettleThe only evidence you are correct on is that you are clueless if you think you "ran" with a 1000hp Supra
I am far from a bench racer, go get a dyno and run the 1/4

Only you can get away of saying something like that, and on top of that you only compared a middleweight Supra.
Boys we have been down this road before Ohio GT2 and Dr. J you guys better play nice because I will send you to the time out chair real quick if you don't!
This is a PORSCHE forum yes the Supra's are awesome but there is no car that can do what I and probably others can do with their Porsche. I went to the Grattan roadcourse event and was faster than 82 of the 85 cars there one of which was a stripped out race car weighing 1850 lbs with 350 horsepower. I can go to the dragstrip and run a high 10 second quarter mile and I can do highway pulls and beat some stiff competition.
Porsche there is NO Substitute!
ps: When cruising on the highway I can get 24 mpg!

I agree that this thread should stay on track and the purpose of this thread is not to compare the Supra to the Porsche. I beg to differ with both Sean and Buddy and would like to personally invite BOTH to run with us at Texas World Speedway, dyno with us, 60-130 with us and drag race with us at TX2K8. I would actually like to make TX2K8 a joint Supra/Porsche event but would need to pick up some P-car sponsors. I will not post on this thread again as it relates to the Supra vs. Porsche, but wanted to throw my 0.02 in.
Thanks,
Peter
Thanks,

Buddy,
You are absolutely correct: I constantly get called out (Naseem was the most recent) for money races by people who have a 1200 hp car on a trailer or in their garage. My response always is "sure, we can do a 60-130/highway run...but we also do a track competition, the Mile AND you have to drive your car to and from each event."
I never get any takers.

Sean, have you lost your mind? If you put $$$$ on the table and challenged me to Road Course, Dyno, 60 to 130, and Mile I would take it in a heart beat! And of course I would drive my car to the events, I already do! Of course I have no clue who/what Naseem is, but I've NEVER heard you throw out a challenge like that. As a matter of fact, we can do it at TX2K8 if you're willing to pony up some $$$$...
