Thank you, I didn't scroll down far enough before. I wonder what something like the 1,000 AWHP AMS EVO would run?

I'm gonna try and get the box in one of our 7/8 second Supras and see what we can come up with, I'm anxious to see myself.

I did not catch the reference from your sig, though.

I would imagine the big power cars to have traction issues at 60 mph, unless running DR's or slicks is allowed? hilarious

Of course it's allowed. Why wouldn't it be?

Throw a box in Darin's car and take it down the interstate on slicks... I say mid 3's :)

Don't worry guys, Darin will have a driftbox in his car at TX2K9. I will make sure of that.

I've got one here, I've had thoughts of putting one in our pro-cars to see what it would pull but I don't believe the driftbox is 16V compatible and don't want to test the suction cup mount on a car that 60 foots in the .98X range. That being said if hte car goes from 0-17X in 4.101 second I wonder what the 60-130 would be ?

germeezy1 Mar 6, 2009 11:05 AM

I didn't know the rules of the 60-130 events, hmmm that has me thinking. I wonder what a Top fuel dragster does 60-130 in? hilarious

Probably too quick for a box to register being that it pulls data "only" 10 times per second.

Sorry, had to look into it.

Data from an ordinary top-fuel dragster:

Best Performances:
0-60 mph - 0.75 seconds
1/8 mile - 3.14 secs. @ 265.53 mph
1/4 mile - 4.780 secs. @ 315.42 mph
http://www.toddpaton.com/images/ball73.gif Acceleration force: +4.5 G's http://www.toddpaton.com/images/ball73.gif Deceleration force: -6.0 G's (with both parachutes deployed)

Based on this, I calculate a 60mph - 130mph roll in:

1/8 mile time of 3.14 / 2 for approx 130mph = 1.57 seconds, minus the 0.75 seconds it took to get to 60mph = net of 0.82 seconds.

germeezy1 Mar 6, 2009 12:52 PM

And that's an average on, traps are over 330 mph now hilarious

Ok so I am sure that would be the record, LOL

Ok so what about a top level F1 car?
