Bill S is the originator. The first 60-130 thread started several YEARS ago on Rennlist.

I made a 60-130 pass last night. I shifted 2 times and slow. I was holding the camera, steering, keeping an eye on the speed and watching for the traffic ahead (which I let get way ahead to make the run). Talk about multitasking. I count somewhere from 8.3-8.6 seconds...would a speedo usually be fast or slow?

It could go either way. Euro speedos are fast. Only way to be accurate is to use a Driftbox or similar.

don't have one...and after the drama over the last few days, I doubt I could borrow one. Although Markski is not far from me.

you think it would be faster if I started in 3rd?

When my speedo said 130, I backed off only to find that the driftbox indicated that I did not hit 130. With stock size tires btw.

well...just did a little investigating...my shift light is set to come on at 6000rpm, which is 129.88 mph in my car. So, the speedo seems a tad slow if anything, as it appears to be around 126-127 mph when the light comes on. So perhaps, I am in the 7's or lower 8's?

dgussin- I'm not doubting your times as I've seen your vid an your GT is fast but do you feel that your car is a second faster 60 to 130 then a Z06? Have you had a chance to run one yet?

BTW no disrespect intended. The only reason I ask is I'm trying to decide by years end which way to go 996TT, C6 Z06 or GT500. I use to have a 450rwhp 98 Mustang GT and I miss the V8 sound and feel.

Cheers,

Cheers,

9 seconds 60-130 for the Z06 is b.s. and Dgussins car is about equal to one maybe a tad slower. The stock z06 can definitely run in the 8's

I had a member send me some files from his Z06 and it was bone stock and the driver knows how to drive(one of the fastest TT's on this list) and the 60-130 times were 9.1 with 2 people in the car and 8.6 without a passenger....Kevin

Dgussin...my speedo reads 136 when I am doing 130 according to the GPS....

Cheers,

never had a clean run with a Z06...I had lined up with Shanks, but it started racing and he kept trying to get the jump, he would leave on the 2nd honk every time. We ended up not racing b/c of the wet.

I think my car and a Z would be a good match. I have a power/weight advantage and shorter gearing than a Z...so I think I will slightly edge one out.

one could only assume if the speedo is off at 130, then it must be off at 60 as well.

I need to find markski and borrow his dbox.

I agree, you would probably beat most Z's. I'm not sure about the highway speeds though as the longer gears wouldnt help you much as you might have to shift two times for the Z's once.

Actaully, mine is off more with greater speed... Around 60 mph it is only 3-4 MPH off... Mark will help you out, he should have his box back soon. Good luck, Kevin

I logged a quick 60-130 run using my new pbox I got yesterday (thanks Kevin!). I'm sure I can get this 5.94 down, look at that slow 3-4 shift hilarious . But not bad for my first logged run. I just sent the file to KPG to review.
