Competition is good, and I really dont care about all that ego stuff anyways. I have seen to much of that and it takes the fun out of being a car guy. Addtionally, I have found for the most part, the people who modify their cars are usually very good spirited people. For example, I would like to meet you, Suman and Buddy but all of you guys drive EVOMS modified Porsches, does that mean I dont want to be friends?? Nope, I think we are all car guys and that is more important!
Cheers

The long and short of it ...............the car went 9.7@152 no wheelies but it looks like it is scraping the headers the whole way down.

Was it Eddie's car? Eddie's tuner said that they have been running 9 for a couple of years in the 150 and 160? Would like to see this video.

Yes it was his car running at E-town.

For the 60-130 challange on the 27th @ Longstar Raceway in Houston Is this ran on drag strip from a standing start or on road track with a 1/4 mile straight from a roll?

houstonT Oct 21, 2007 09:31 PM

al - the Lonestar event will be held at a 1/4 mile track. We wouldn't chance doing it on a public street. It is the safest possible environment that exists...

Peter thanks for reply. My question was about which track ,the road course with a rolling start ,or the drag strip from a standing start, as a lot of ten second cars don't reach 130 in 1/4 mile from standing start.

houstonT Oct 22, 2007 07:26 AM

Lonestar does not have a road course....so to answer your question....the drag strip. If you roll through the burnout box (with no water in it of course) at 25 mph and floor it at the start line, you have a HUGE advantage already. We've had 2 events there to date (one was a National Event) with no issues. Hope you can make it out.

Peter
p.s. last time we had a basically stock X50 running and hitting 130 and stopping was no problem...

Ahah! That's how you're doing it. Makes alot of sense, b/c my car won't hit 130mph in the 1/4.

Not to mention, the P-car has absolutely BADASS BRAKES and could EASILY stop (if needed) from 130+ in less than 1/8 mile.
