Took the LP out for some 60-130mph runs today about an hour after it stopped raining. Humidity was about 80% and temps around 75 degrees, not the best of conditions. Best time was 8.070 seconds on a 2.7% decline. I definitely think the car has sub 8s in it with better conditions.

I ran a 5.19 on street-legal 100 octane last night with 2-shifts at 1.38 BAR. I really need to try some MS109.

Scott, question-top of second gear is about 70mph in my car.
Do you think it would benefit me by starting in second, rather than 3rd?
When I do a pull in 3rd gear, I start about 45mph, around 3000rpm.
Just curious if 2nd might be too short with 60mph occurring so close to redline.
I won't be able to try it for a few weeks, have some work to do on the car.
I think there's alot left in the car provided I shift quicker.
Thanks for any info.

ps-go easy on us with those times, OK?! lol:D

Honestly couldn't tell you, bro. You'll just have to try both and see which is faster. It depends on how fast you shift, where your car is making its peak power, etc..

I would say that most cars will be faster with 1 shift. But sometimes, like in my case, it's quicker with 2.

vrybad May 7, 2008 07:45 AM

Yea, I'll give it a whirl when I get the car back on the road.
I do think I have to shift faster.
I'd like to see closer to 7 flat, which I think is possible.

Thanks.

Good luck, bro.

For anyone that's interested, using the Motor Trend data from their recent US Spec GT-R test, it looks like it's 60-130 time is 10.9 seconds:

0-60 3.2
0-130 14.1

=10.9

The acceleration in that car just dies after 100mph. That has to be the WORST EVER 60-130mph time for a car that can do 0-100mph in 8 seconds.

LOL...I agree. In thier review, the editors implied essentially the same thing.

I see the GT-R getting waxed by stock M5's, M6's, AMG's, TT's, Z06's, Vipers, etc...from a roll. The funny thing is that most GT-R owners aren't going to understand what just happened and why. hilarious

I agree, the car has the launch down pat, but its going to be a wakeup call from a roll. Of course, thats nothing some tuner upgrades wont solve. I still think itll be a great car as long as its modded, otherwise it will have a tough time staying in front of my Cayenne :D. I might pick one up just to get the thrill from 100 power launches.
