All of the cars on the list are street legal.
IRT to tires, I think only one or two were on slicks during their runs. All of the other cars were on DOT street legal tires. My car is essentially full weight other than being converted to RWD and running GT3 seats. I still have my full leather interior, sunroof and all stock body parts installed. It weighs right around 3,300 lbs and makes 1,000+ HP to the flywheel at 1.6 BAR on race fuel, and 800+ HP on 93 octane pump fuel. All of my 60-130 runs are done with 2-shifts; from 2nd to 4th. Below are some vids of my car, and there are vids of some of the other guys cars floating around here as well. http://videos.streetfire.net/video/Protomotive-996TT-vs-S65_167913.htm http://videos.streetfire.net/video/Protomotive-996TT-vs-BMW_167912.htm http://videos.streetfire.net/video/Protomotive-996TT-vs-600_167909.htm http://videos.streetfire.net/video/Protomotive-996TT-vs-C6_167183.htm http://videos.streetfire.net/video/Protomotive-built-996TT_128781.htm |

is there anybody left, you still can play with? and the boost response of your car is amazing, seems no lag I know where my car makes it's peak power (from 4,500 to 8,000 rpm)..so when I'm trying to maximize my acceleration perfomance, I always ensure I'm in the correct gear to get me in that range. Look at it this way; were someone to try driving an older 1,000+ HP turbo F1 car below it's proper operating range, it would have horrible lag and not perform well at all. But driven in it's proper range (9k to 14k rpm)..it's one of the most violently fast and responsive wheeled vehicles on the planet. It's all about knowing your car, your setup..and then driving in a way that maximizes that setup.:) |

5.26 for a 950 HP 9ff 997 GT3 RS TURBO

Played around stoplight to stoplight tonight while grabbing some fast food. Got 4 0-60's in to practice launching, I think I almost have it figured out. A bog 4.4 / 4.1/ 4.1 and the last one of the evening I came out of the hole at 4500 or so RPMs and slipped the clutch a ton, tires just started to spin but I caught it, the good news 3.5 0-60 with probably another .1 room for improvement on PS2s, the bad news is I learned a valuable lesson to never forget your SD card, for now all I have is this ****ty iphone pic for proof. This Tilton makes life incredibly easy and takes the abuse like it's nothing.
http://www.onelovemedia.com/996tt/350to60.jpg I'm going to try to get a few 60-130's tomorrow to see if I can improve that. |
scott:
I know what you mean, the initial spool up will take some time but then If you keep some revs it's stays responsive at max power. But what I am suffering from is a tiny lag between shifts, which looks like it blows off too much pressure in the moment of lifting the throttle during shift. do you know what I mean? may be there is a trick for this? I was told it's immanent to 996's ECU/throttle and cannot be optimized...??? |
Jimmer: this car is currently well present in the press and mags in europe.
It's a 997 GT3 RS (nothing changed from the outside) converted to a 4,0l turbo with garrets and water/air IC. |

I'll try that!
my BOV supposed to be the stock one(part# 993 110 337 50?). are there any replacments known to be good and may be adjustable? if the BOV blows off too late it should also result in a lag, as the compressor would slow down, right? |

Guys,
Onelove ran a clean 7.88 with 1 shift on a very flat 0.48% decline in his Titan/Protomotive TT. Great job! |

And here's another one from our resident 60-130 time supplier, acicchelli.:)
This run was in his stock E63; 11.32 on a 2.82% decline. Thanks again, Aaron. You consistently provide us with invaluable comparison data. |

My thoughts on the car in the month or so I have had it: Overall I am really loving this car. It is the most comfortable riding car I current own, and very relaxing to drive. Of course the power is there when you need it. It seats 4 very comfortably and has a ton of trunk space. I think its one of the best all around performance bargains on the market right now. I thought I was getting a boring, powerful sedan that would just get the job done, but instead I find myself frequently looking forward to driving it. Aaron |

RS38 sent me a file for a stock C63 AMG. It ran 10.48 on a 1.7% decline.
