Guys,

MBailey sent me a new run that he just ran that beat his last one by a good measure. He ran a 8.14 with 1-shift on a 0.1% decline (almost perfectly flat).

His car keeps getting faster. His last run was a 8.52 and the one before that was a 9.68. Congrats, Mike!

Nice run!
With just a quicker shift, you'll be in the 7's!

New Best for me yesterday 11.449@120.2 (1.769 60')

Also a best 60' of 1.689. I think it may be cool to put a 10-20 best 60's and a short description of the tire / setup on the front page too as this is a super important area to a quick time.

LUISGT3 Oct 2, 2008 02:34 PM

I agree a top 10 60 ft would be cool too.

Very nice run, MBailey!! If possible, you might look into shedding more weight and see what happens. I bet you get < 7.5 real soon.

I already lowered the weight with the exhaust and battery. I plan to take the tire/tools out of the boot when it really cools off. I hope you are right about the <7.5s... I feel pretty confident about a 7.8-7.9s.

Thanks for the support!
That shift was pretty lousy! (~0.4s) I doubt I can get it down below 0.2s like some have but 0.25-0.3s would be a reasonable goal.

Great ET for that trap speed! You must be one heck of a starter/shifter!!
Although I would have expected a higher trap for those turbos. Were conditions unfavorable?

What mods (besides the turbos) do you have on the car?

I'm learning, I'm a relatively quick shifter just trying to perfect the launch and get the quick shifts and a good 60' on the same pass. Car just has K24s, Profect B, 5Bar and Proto tune. It averages 7.9-8.0 60-130s, but recently it's been hot here (It's 85 today, normally 85-95 this time of year and quite humid) so I need the weather to cool in my favor.

I'm quite certain the car is out of injector at the current boost, I managed 123mph later in the evening but don't expect that on every run. It probably needs a bit more boost but I want to put it on the dyno and use Durametrics to see how much fuel I left, right now it's a modest 1.1-1.2 bar just as I would drive around on the street with.

Did that 11.8@125mph yesterday by chance(testing if my tires are still spinning on the rims), I was simply starting from a parking lot onto the autobahn. so there was no sd-card in it, and I made that pics with my mobile.
I am sure there is still room for improvement, even on normal streets with way less grip than on a drag strip.
Tires are ToyoR888, max boost 1.0, 540 crank HP

I'm really liking the results I'm seeing from the R888s with AWD on these cars, do they make them in an 19" for the 996?

RS38 Oct 3, 2008 06:45 PM

my car is RWD!

Powell Oct 3, 2008 08:07 PM

Everyone on the list got an email about my run w/ the file. It was on 19psi (MS109) and it was my first REAL attempt at 1 shift. The car had been idling for about 10-15 minutes (While I figured this driftbox machine out LOL) and I barely drove down the road before I started making the pulls. The best pull which appears to be a 6.96 which was after 2 passes (One I didn't hit 130, and a 7.0x with 2 shifts).

I'm going to try to get some real numbers this weekend as it gets cooler. The car is full weight and AWD still. I had a 1/2tank of gas also.

Is it a gt-2 or TT with RWD conversion?

Nice time, bro. You should definitely be able to get a quicker time, but that is a great starting point (and it ties my time), and gives you something to try to better.

Good luck!!
