two days ago the weather here was very hot(for winter period)However i did a very good time, much better than 7,04 verified, but i was unlucky...the slope was 3,2...So I stayed at 7,04 at 0,6slope...:(...Until next time:)

heavychevy Feb 9, 2009 03:55 PM

How much better?

skandalis447 Feb 10, 2009 04:20 PM

0,6 slope,9 celcious,7,04sec
3,2 slope,20celsious,6,89sec
Exactly same setup...only difference was 3 days...Still waiting for the weather to get really cold...:)

Based on what I've seen in the past, it could be as high as .3 to .5 second difference.

Optimally, I'd like to keep all runs under a 1.0% overall decline, but there's no really no way to do that since very few members have access to roads as flat as that.

Interesting. I happened to dig up some stuff from the road course but traqmate's sampling rate isnt where I could get exact speeds. It was like 59.86 - 130.07 on a 6th lap at VIR so I have no idea how many shifts I did either because I lost all my vids. It was the closest I could find.

But makes me want to actually try it though, that was prior to DV's and with no stress on shift speed. So I think if I actually tried I could make up some of that gained incline time with a speedier shift and maybe less heat soak and making the exact speeds since I went farther.

Our greek friend Madsex343 ran a fantastic 6.48 with one shift on a 1.6% decline! He just keeps getting faster and faster.

Congrats Costas!
