Currently in Friendswood the DA is currently -191 ft. right now (25ft Above Sea Level, 62* Actual Temp, 30.33" of Hg, 19* Dewpoint). There is a full formula, but it is hard to actually quote and make sense. I usually just use the calculators that have everything predefined.

Todd I can't wait to see how she does with the EBC installed!

And Sean's car should lag a lot. Compared to Paul's car he was out on me 2-3 cars before I even came into boost. It's kinda scary how fast the 24/18s spool!

It was installed on Friday. I just need to learn how to tweak and dial it in better. I need to know how to sustain the max boost. Right now its only 1.35. I want to hold at 1.45.

And there begins the fun part! LOL!

I still need to figure mine out since I am now running externals now. I know if I set the first to 60%-65% it makes about 22.8psi or so (Which means 100% would be well over 2bar!!! eeeek!!!) I need to play with the gain some so I can hold boost better. The set gain is the part that holds the boost from what I've been told, so that is where I'll be dabbling with.

I think with the EBC off it holds the boost in the low 14s area and spikes 14.8 or so. I usually just run with the ebc off when I have pump gas in the car now.

Thanks Sean. I just sent the files in for verification. There was actually a 6.89, 6.96 and 7.01 in there. I hope it holds up.

Your 6.89 on a 0.6% decline is good! Great job, Todd.:D

hilarious

Thats an outstanding run Todd!! You have scattered the Tip haters!

I admit, I was sceptic...now I am convinced...the car is very strong, zero time between shifts.

Now Todd, you just need to convince us that the tranny will last. I would start a fund. Just start sending $500 a month to Steve:p

Congrats Todd, that is a very fast tip.

A little known fact, ok maybe not for Porsche guys but for the general public.

This car is another example of the Porsche evolution-over-revolution school of improvements with some aspects of the car that seem to defy logic. For example, Porsche have managed to squeeze 14 per cent more power out of an engine the same size as that of its predecessor and the automatic transmission enables this version of the Turbo to accelerate faster than the manual – it shaves roughly 0,03 of a second off the 0-100 km/h sprint.

The injectors seem to do a lot for the 24/18's, that is my theory.

Has anyone run a 996 Tip w/ 560 whp for a long period? I know that the 997 Tips are doing well.

Link just goes to the EVO main page...are you referring to the torque converter? That is what Todd needs to start saving for.

I see so many guys who build high hp Porsches and think that they will solve the clutch problem when they need to. When the clutch goes (and always sooner than they exepct...and usually right before some major event like the Supra Nats...you listening, Walnut) and the car is down for several weeks to their dismay.

germeezy1 Mar 2, 2009 11:05 PM

That's why my car is an auto....cheaper going with a top of the line built auto and a stall converter than dealing with shifting issues. You think you Porsche guys have clutch and manual transmission issues...LOL hilarious

Guys,

Falco just sent me a P-box file from a bone-stock 997 GT2 in England. The car went 7.25 with 1 shift on a 2.5% decline. Wow!
