Faster ETs with RWD or AWD?
As many of you know I have been running with the front driveshaft removed for a while now. I really like the feel and the car still feels very planted due to the rear weight bias. Wheel hop is just as bad on a hard launch.
Do you think the car will launch faster in AWD than RWD? and will that give better ETs?

RWD seems to do better but u need to do the full conversion.
The GT2 has the ultimate advantage because its rwd and it does not have PSM...

This has to be the hardest car I have ever owned to launch (and I have owned plenty). It has a way of making you feel like you've never driven before. Why do they gear it so low?

I have officially given up drag racing 996TT's... Seriously guys Some things just aren't mean to be. I like my AWD and I'm not getting rid of it...

I did 1.74 60ft with a 550 HP car on 19 inch rims... street tires... no drag radials... but thats still not as good as one should be... and you guys with 700 hp cars should be pulling high 1.5s... especiaslly on BF goodrich DRs... but you do not... This car is very hard to launch.. and 1st gear is useless.

KA had a documentated low 1.6 60ft. over three years ago. That was with 583 rwhp.
I believe the wheel hop is due to the spring pressure being used. Wheel hop wasn't a problem for us.

Mark ,first time w/the dr's on and only a 3800 rpm launch.Only 3 runs that day and my next launch would have been 4200 but didn't get it because rain ended it early. Was a little worried about the axles at the time with a harder launch.Went 1.71 and a 1.73 on back to back passes in 2004 w/19,s on Continentals when the car was stock with just exhaust (no ecu upgrade) and wnt 12.01@ 117.Got the new Evoms axles and a lot more power then the gt 700 now,I'll let ya know when i get a 1.5 60 ft. I think its quite possible if the drivetrain holds up.If you want to run good short times with these cars stay away from 800lb springs and slammed ride height.Although I love the look it just isn't great for straight line power delivery .
