What dealership in the Bay Area would you take yours to for warranty/service work?

Which Porsche dealers in the Bay Area are known for doing excellent service and warranty work?

I live in the San Jose area. I know there is Stevens Creek Porsche and Carlsen Porsche is up the road. There may be other dealerships, but I am looking for the one with the best reputation. I don't mind driving a little further to find it either.

thanks.

Just got my car back from Claridge today. Good service and most importantly they don't care if your car is modded or not.

In my experience, the best service is at Rector in Burlingame. I've been taking my cars there for a few years and am very satisfied. A bit far for you. I bought my first Carrera at Clarridge's and Kimo was very good, but it was too far for me to drive so I only went there once.

The only problem I have with Claridges is that when you need a loaner car they give you an Enterprise Rental car. I just dropped off my Porsche, I don't want to drive out with a Neon. I've brought my car to Stead, Eric is great and they give Boxter Loaners.

Thumbs up Carlsen

Not to sound biased...but Brian Haske at Carlsen Porsche has always taken great care with all my cars. Ive purchased TWO from them over the years, and they've always made every effort to help me, and always provided a nice Boxster or Cayenne as a loaner. PLUS, they provided us with their hospitality last weekend for that GREAT 6speed gathering. That speaks VOLUMES in my opinion!!!

Brians number is 650 701 9200 x 103

They are also very knowledgeable and helpful to PCars that have been MODDED too........no hassles!

the best TECH they have working there was also at the 6Speed meet, his name is Christian.

Hope this Helps

I was a long time customer of Carlsen , but didn't like their service set up - you stand in line and deal with whoever on any given morning when you show up. Claridge's gives you a personal service advisor , since it is set up as MBZ/Porsche . The Porsche store will move next door into the big space and service dept vacated when BMW recently moved down the street .
I get a Boxster S loaner for my Turbo and an ML350 loaner for my MBZs when I get service at Claridge's , via their on site Enterprise who actually own the fleet of rental Porsches and MBZs ( but your service rep has to authorize it so it depends on your " greasing " skills )

I have a $5,000 dispute with Claridge's regarding a deposit they don't want to refund. This was a TT Cab Bl/Bl with modest options. The options do not justify them keeping my deposit.

Anyway, while doing research on Claridge's I heard from several Porsche owners that had extremely negative experiences with Claridge's and would NEVER go there again. It turns out they have been keeping peoples deposits for years.

Two other Bay Area Porsche dealers told me Claridge's has financial problems and has lost one brand recently. My concern is that Claridge's goes bankrupt before my lawsuit gets settled.

Carlsen

I will echo Senna's comments about Carlsen, and specifically Brian Haske (service advisor) and Christian in service. I noticed a comment from someone about negative experiences with Carlsen, and all I can say is that their service department has come a long way since they split off from Audi and moved to their own location. I have had good experiences with all of their techs, and you won't find a better service advisor than Brian Haske in my opinion.

I dealt with Peter at Carlsen for years , than there was a lot of service rep turnover . It also wasn't pleasant standing in the rain , waiting to be the next person called into the " hut " .
Sounds like things have improved at the new split location.
Tom Claridge was given a strong offer for his BMW store by Autonation a while back and seeing the current state of that car line , he sold it . Now he can move the Porsche store into the much larger former BMW space and separate the parts and service operations from MBZ. Claridge's BMW changed it's name last month to BMW of Fremont and is now in the former Mitsubishi space. Magnussen's Lexus is building a huge new showroom down the street just beyond BMW and a future Range Rover /Jag/Volvo dealer will be next to that at Bunche and Cushing Pkwy.
