Any feedback on ZTek Porsche 996 TURBO SS Exhaust System and High Flow Sport Cats?

Hello,

Looking to purchase a new exhaust for my 2001 996TT and was wondering if anyone had any experience/feedback on the ZTek Porsche 996 TURBO Super Sport Exhaust System and High Flow Sport Cats? They have them on sale for $1899 new, which seems like a good price if the quality is there. I am also considering Fab Speed Max Flo with straight pipe option. Any feedback on that system as well? I have my car heavily moded with Stage 4 engine, suspension, brake, and body mods, and drive the car "very" aggressively on the street and track. Want an exhaust that will hold up to this "extreme" duty. My last exhaust installed by Evo, fell apart after only 20k miles. Do not want to be buying new exhaust every 20k for sure.

Thanks for the help,
Bill

How does an exhaust fall apart after just 20k miles? Which one was your former exhaust?

I've only had experience recently with fabspeed. On my 996 cab, it lasted just fine. The current car (a 996TT x50) has a fabspeed super sport and it seems fine (probably about 15k miles on the exhaust).

Never heard of ZTek. Would like to see dyno readings/comparisons...

The exhaust was installed by Evo several years ago with the Stage 4 upgrade. Not sure who made it. The weld across the entire width of the muffler seperated and even after re-welding with a top notch Tig welder, it came apart again. Glad to hear you are having good luck with the Fab Speed. Here is the link to Zero Tek. Check out the exhaust. It looks like good quality. No dyno numbers posted though.. www.zerotek.net

The 40 hp gain with a stock 996 TT is a joke, especially with that type of chamber. No picture close up enough to see the weld quality, no mention of the type of SS used, no mention of the tube size, no sound files, and add to the fact that a set of quality 100 cell cats cost $1,845 from Fabspeed.........don't waste good money on these

Most exhausts make about 15HP on a stock car. The 40hp is real, and is due to faster spool and as such 40HP does happen, but only for few hundred RPM. Power under the curve is what makes your car go. 40HP for a few hundered RPM won't much difference.

The Random Technology metal matrix cats are great, especially considering porsche cat pricing.

hard to beat this set up, cheap, light, fast spooling turbos, car sounds great. Most hp in an exhaust set up. In heavily modded cars why screw around?
PS, latter I did beat this set up and just went with the FVD straight pipes and eliminated the damn cats as well!!

I had a horrible experiece with ZTek. Poor quality, poor fit and even worse customer service. Hope you haven't ordered from them yet. If you have, good luck!
