Lou,

this guy is F.O.S.

He is not from Chicago. His IP is logged as the same as "tuner."

Tuner is Bryan from FVD, but Bryan is a straight up guy. Lets see, I wonder who else works at FVD.....

You guys are cracking me up. Lou, nice job on the data but don't get too personal with Allen, he doesn't personally attack from what I have seen. He does present a different viewpoint but hey, opinions are opinions.

Come on Tim, you know me better than that. My ribbing is a joke and I am sure ellen understands that. If you look at my posts, most have the winks after them. That said, I am my own man buddy, I can take care of me and really do not need any guidance as to what I can or cannot do. I know you don't mean it like that, I'm just saying.

LSM, VW world, eat**** dumbass, why the insults,I sence fear, there is no need for that. You must be one of those guys that look down on the less fortunate. It is what it is , dont let it bother you, dont start somthing that you will not finish.I am in it for fun and a hobby, dont put me down.....Do you or the bank have the title to your car.????
Look at the post right after that one, where should we meet?? How's that Florida, I mean Illinois IP address? You on your lunch break from your high school?? It is your senior year no??

Regarding what kind of guy I am, definately not an Elitist, not that I should validate your opinion, but, I will explain just what kind of guy I am. I grew up extremely poor and did not have much. It would be quite ironic for me to think I am better than anyone especially those less fortunate. You want to know what kind of guy I am, the kind that doesn't take well to fakes and liars.

I'm beginning to wonder if this question "what's faster in a straight line than a stage <fill in the blank>?" is only relevant to bench racing. I have yet to run across anything faster on the street, while I was actually in my 996TT. And I live in a neighborhood with a McClaren and an Enzo. The Enzo, as far as I know, has never taken to the street. I've only seen the guy in the McClaren once, and I was in my tow vehicle at the time, driving the opposite direction. There is a guy in a 550 Maranello - which is definitely slower - who lives down the street. But he won't rev his engine past 4000. So, forget about that... although I did once end up at a light right behind him. (He was outrun by the mini van next to him...)

So, unless we're drag racers like Alex, what are the odds that any of us will ever actually run up against one of these faster (in a straight line) cars at a stop light? And, add in the odds that he/she will actually want to race, and I think I'm more likely to be hit by lightning.

P.S. My daughter's friend keeps saying he's going to come out from San Diego and open a can of whoop *** on me with his supercharged Honda. Even if I were to take his claims of speed seriously, the odds of him actually coming out and doing it is somewhere around the same odds as being attacked by an chimpanzee at work. Meanwhile, I'm running around in 91 octane mode just amusing myself with more horsepower than I really need.

I'm in the market for a Diablo and I own a Ruf R Turbo...

I am under no illusion that the Diablo will beat the Ruf, it won't...in fact, I know the Ruf will blow the doors off of it, drivers being equal.

Lets not make the Diablo something that isn't...its an exotic car that goes very fast and looks great (IMHO)....just not as fast as a Ruf

Where did we get off comparing the Ruf to the Lambo? I have no doubt that a new 590hp Ruf will beat the Murci. But since we are magazine racing heres a few, ill start first with Motor Trend:

Motor Trend:
996TT= 0-60=3.9 11.9@116
996TT x50 3.7 11.9@ 119.9
gt2 3.8 12.1@ 120.0
Murcielago- 3.5 11.7@122.6
Diablo 3.6 11.80 @ 122

Top Gear
Headline reads" Lambo Genius, v10 Lambo blows the Porsche 911 Turbo and Ferrari 360 Away"

Car Magazine "NEW WORLD ORDER Why Lamborghinis Gallardo beats the 911 turbo and Ferrari 360 Cs"

Evo Magazine
Lambo Murci- 0-60=4.0
Lambo DIablo 3.8
Diablo Gt 4.1 (in the wet) 0-100mph in 8.3 in the wet
Porsche 996 TT 0-60=4.1
Gt2 4.1
Gt2 recieved 4 1/2 stars, all Lambos 5 stars

Since you included the 993TT in some of your tests heres the 993TT vs a Diablo Vt from Wheels Mag 1996:
Diablo Vt 1/4 mile 12.3@192Kmh
Recorded a speed on the Millbrock Bowl of 184mph
Porsche 993TT
1/4 13.0@ 175kmh
Reached 172kmh

Last, Motor magazine June 2001, Lambo Diablo Vs Porsche 996TT

Appart from the obvious comments of how the Lambo was faster, but the Porsche quicker over B-roads this sums up the whole deal:
"Alongside the Diablo, the Porsche is invisible"

Performance:
"Porsche 0-200kmh in 15 seconds flat! But the Diablo is faster, stronger, heavier. The results are neither subtle nor insubstantial. THEYRE CRUSHING. 0-200kmh in 12.8 seconds"

Best part:
In its earlier incarnations, the 911 Turbo has been almost as savage, vicious and demanding of respect as the Diablo. But the 996TT is a far cry from those days. But long may there be cars like the DIablo, because its a stand alone event. Atmosphere, sparkle, crackle and illogical appeal like no other car maker has ever truly provided. Standing still, its an event, fire it up, its an event. Hammer it? Yep! its an event the likes of which Porsche owners will never have the chance to comprehend."

Ill get more magazines later.

As for an Upsolute chipped car beating the Lambo, uh ... no. It will take alittle more than that, but it would be very close.

As for your Ruf beating my Sv....LOL

Allan,

you got it all wrong...I didn't say my Ruf would beat your SV, I said it would blow the doors off of it...

It would be nice to set this up somewhere, but I guess we'll have to wait until your little F355 vs Mustang race is over first...

I see a pattern here...flame wars no matter what board you post on...indicates a serious character flaw to me

RufMD, you would without a doubt blow the doors off Allans Lambo if he wasn't spraying his 150 shot of nitrous.
