Nitrous Q's?

Anyone use it with these motors ?

I am looking for a nitrous tunner anyone know of a good one?

Reason fo this is I am looking to get some use out of the shot on the car.

Have you talked to CJV?

Also VR Alex had it on a car which I believe was built by S-Car-Go?

Good Luck,

MK

What kind of kit and what type of tuning are you talking about?

iLLM3 Jan 30, 2007 03:39 PM

LOL how is it at all necessary with your setup haha... What turbo's are you using again, and would it be just for low end spool up?

FL TT Jan 31, 2007 02:12 PM

Necessary is kinda sensitive and subjective, but when does one really need it? It's reasonable to say that tuners themselves nearly never consider nitrous in any staple of their kits (not even off kits) or recommend it for that reason (yeah, its a reputation thing).

without pointing fingers, I'd recommend giving Todd @ protomotive a ring, in means to get an unbiased opinion and his personal experience coupled with tuning ability with your extensive list of mods ;)

I haven't had a chance to give Alex a ring at a reasonable time, he more then anyone would be able to chime in and give us his two cents (literally!).

go for it brotha!

No man.. don't do ithilarious Do it on a big block not on these... redirect the lines to your mouth and you'll forget all about the shot to your car;)

In my experience, using nitrous at low RPMs on relatively small engines is a very bad idea. I wouldn't shoot it under 3k. If you're having lag issues, there are certainly better ways to go about reducing it.

Nothing wrong with bolting up a 100 shot if you're just after some more top-end zing, however. Just make sure you do it properly with a window switch, fuel pressure switch, etc, and do your first few tuning runs on a dyno so you can watch AFs.

That's a good one... hilarious hilarious hilarious although I think it should be redirected to the nose...unless he breathes through his mouth....

Yes, I have used it.

There is alot to using it on these motors. We wouldn't use it under 2600 rpm's. We wouldn't use more than a 35 shot unless you protect the pistons, combustion chambers and exhaust ports.

We used pill box (rpm on/off), fuel pressure kill switch, clutch engagement switch and a programmer. With the wet system tuning is a non issue as the fuel/nitrous ratio's are pre mixed by the nozzle size. Just have to make sure you install the nozzle sizes and minimum fuel pressure called for.

I would imagine with your setup getting there would be a breeze?!?!? I just recently hit 172 on a not so long straight starting from 50, got up there VERY fast! You should be able to double that LOL!
