Another spacer question

Hello all,

Noticed there has been alot of spacer questions lately, so might aswell submit mine.
I have an 03 TT with RUF rims on them with no spacers. I'm starting to realize it doesn't quite look right, and the local dealer told me the back wheel is slightly rubbing also.
Is there a standard size spacer when ruf rims are installed on a wide body? Anyone with RUF rims, can you tell me what you have on yours?

Thanks alot.

I got spacers just yesterday. Try calling one of the board sponsors on the right. Very helpful.

If you have the 19x8.5 front RUF wheel, you should have 7mm.

The rear 19x11 recommends a 35mm spacer. These specs are from the RUF parts list. You can check on the RUF website under wheel catalog.

I'm using RUF 43mm rear spacers with RUF Pss9's and have no rubbing problems.

Holy god, i had no idea RUF used spacers that big, for a 11" wide wheel on a turbo you wouldnt think you would need more than a 10-15mm spacer, insane!

My RUF wheels dont use any spacers and look fine, i also have 12" rears though!?!

The modular wheels are the only wheels that RUF makes that are a direct fit on a wide body car to my knowledge. The whole idea that spacers are bad etc is just a bunch of fluff IMO. Do you think RUF would allow spacers if they were that bad.

Here is link to the RUF wheel catalog. http://www.rufautocentre.com/parts/pdf/wheel.pdf

As you can plainly see, the wheels use some massive spacers!

Of course, i dont think spacers are bad in any way to use, but damn, they use VERY BIG spacers haha, just questioned why, for a company who can obviously make a direct fit without them!

Thanks guys,

This really helps. I do agree with iLLM3, with RUF specializing in Porsches, why can't they eliminate the spacers? Maybe for extra $$$$???

Most of the wheels RUF uses are made to fit the narrow body R turbos that he produces.
