Carbon Fiber dulling, anything I can do?
Hey guys, I have a full Carbon package on my 01' and I have noticed that it is duller in some areas. It almost looks like a milky appearance. My doors have it the worst so I am thinking this my be caused by the sun over time? Is there a way to make it look like new or am I stuck with paying for new pieces from the Porsche dealer? Is this a known defect? Anyone else have this problem?
I have the same milkly CF goodness...its pretty rank...I mean...why couldnt atleast be black rather then the mucus color...
Atleast I dont care about the looks of this car too much...
If your under warrentee...I would attempt to have them replace it...but its around 2-6k depending on how much you need to replace...

I have the same issue with the clearcoat making the pieces look greenish. Has to be a way to strip off the clearcoat and redo it, but it hasn't been annoying enough to do anything about.
Don't think its sunlight related so much since the pieces that I'm having problems with aren't in direct sunlight, as opposed for example to the pieces on top of the dash or the steering wheel, which are fine.

If its not a warranty covered issue you can take it to a good autobody shop and have them sand off all the clear and reclear the items. I normally have this done with all the exterior cf peices like hoods and wing blades etc.
Should work forthe interior pieces.
