Sorry but that would be going against the norm. on here? Nobody else has said anything like that before....

I mean $7,000 for stage 2? or $12,000 for stage 3?
Yet, on this forum it seems everyother person has these mods listed on there signature. There are some people who have spent a small fortune in there 996's and without a doubt I agree all the things you are talking about are obtainable as far as drivability but at what cost to you? Almost no one here actually works on there own cars or has actually fabricated a single part of there setup. So vendors just compleately Rip people off for the aftermarket parts (not even talking install). I won't talk about my experiance with protomotive but whatever..

Your statements are bold yet I find it very interesting. Hope you can be more elaborative.

SO m not sure why ur so keen on finding out if tuners and or engine builders fir P cars give warranty on race engines...

Fishey. You are 100% on the money. The cost of tuning these cars is enough to make a grown man cry like a baby. But WTF are you going to do? If you want to drive a modified Porsche turbo, there is a significant price of entry. This is why I try and be soo supportive of the "new" guys who come onto the scene - SHIV for example. Some find it hard too accept new idea, and as a result, push away those who could potentially save us from these insane prices through a competitive alternative. Do you have any suggestions in this regard or are you simply stating the obvious????

Back then Buddy's car was pushing us power wise and we were using TIAL. I didn't realize the EVO GT series was around at that time. If the TIAL's were used after the Stage 5 then I don't believe it has been four years.
For some reason, I thought EVO was introduced to the TIAL turbo's at the shootout that Buddy brought his car to. I know EVO uses TIAL on the GT700, the four years just doesn't seem to be right. Am I wrong?

The puns are killer.
Well, my thoughts are...yes it is very expensive to mod these cars. I had an M3 cab and had done some Dinan upgrades which at the time I thought was expensive ($500 for a chip), but jumping into a Turbo is a completely different animal. Sure you can buy an inexpensive car and spend a few dollars and make it fast, but to jump into $100k cars, it does cost more to extract power from. Is it fair, probably not, but that is the price to pay to play. Keep in mind these tuners spend a lot of money on R&D to make these parts and make sure they work.
All this prices reflects directly in the numbers of cars, I'm shure if the numbers of EVO's available where 5,000 then the price of parts and labor will be much, much higher, and much more higher on tuner parts.Right now at any moment time there may be 100 Evos been modded versus perhaps 10 TT'S,?? it just a supply vs. demand situation. If there where more Porsches on the market, maybe there where more tuners doing them, and of course the prices will be lower, until then don't expect lower prices!! cheers, Sonny.

1. GT28 Turbo's
2. Oil Parts to make turbos work
3. BlownSix Intercoolers (Arguee endtanks all you want they are $1000 cheaper)
4. Fuel Injectors
5. Strait exhaust 4" off turbos (No Cats) but a burnsstainless muffler (PN SM-400-550-6 on each pipe (Total Cost is around $700 vs $3400 and HP is actually higher) Here is how you route them http://www.fabspeed.com/images/gallery8.jpg (thanks Fabspeed for the pic)
6. What to do about tuning? Easy, Delete the factory crap and go standalone of your choice. I personally love useing haltech as its cheap and has every function I will ever need also a retune is as easy as booting my labtop. This isn't for everyone because there are problems to overcome and if you have a tiptronic you might as well forget it. The best solution for you guys is NIRA that cost around $1840. You could also try civinco but I am not very experianced with it.
7. You can street tune yourself as well with a wideband. I suggest staying away from the bosch sensor if you plan on running leaded race fuels as they tend to fail quicker but other then that they are cheap and reliable.
8. (NOTE FOR NON-CAR GUYS!) Do you wonder well thats great but I am not car savy how can I save a crap load of money to get some decent hp? Easy, piece it togeather yourself and while you will still spend money it will be alot less. As for install of parts I would leave it to someone that has experiance. The tuning can be done by other chip companies that can do custom tuning and some might even have what your looking for (I know almost everyone has a nice K24+boltons map)
9. There is no need for CBV's to make HP if your on a budget. CBV's on the 996 are good for far past what the motor will produce before it explodes

Now, Obviously this is what I have done in the past to make HP without spending money. The major drawback is you need to be able to do your own work and live with a loud car. I know alot of people will talk about silicon pipes, intake system and whatever else but the truth is these boltons really are not the big power producers. There is also a reason I posted in this thread because I see vivid has given a helping hand to people in getting started with these turbos.
