What's the difference between giac (stage 4gt) and the upsolute ecu mod??
i have stage 4gt extremely happy what does the upsolute offer?

Not nearly as much, but it is a whopping $500.00 mod. Great bang for the buck. I am not sure what upsolute performance numbers are but I am sure someone here will chime in with some HP numbers.

I have the UpSolute on my 03TT. With no other mods, it dynoed at 417 HP on AWE's 4 wheel dyno.

Upsolute & Fabspeed- 460 rwhp and TQ was high 500's...
More responsive and quicker than Stage IV Giac (not saying faster). IMHO |
My dyno'd 455 rwhp and 505 ft-lb tq at the wheels.

Yes, it was corrected torque...
The interesting part was as good as the HP was the Torque was significantly higher. Anyone know why? |

The output characteristic is derived through a combination of cams, turbine wheel, compressor wheel, ign, etc. A larger turbo setup could be used that would trade in some low end for more high end. By shifting the torque curve up the rpm spectrum, you'd get higher hp at the expensive of peakier delivery. With a displacement of 3.6L, our motor can actually be paired with much larger turbos (given the proper cams). The limitations that come into play would be how stout the bottom end is. Case in point, the Supra Turbo is so strong that the stock bottom end can be paired with a Turbo that'll put out 1000HP.... and that's out of a 3.0L engine. The torque curve looks very different than ours, but you get the idea. It's simply a matter of sizing the turbo, cam specs, etc to get the torque curve to the desired shape. The reason that the thread died is because nothing happened. Todd and Stephen have not come out yet to repair the two Stage 4GT cars.
