Accessing rear upper coilover nuts

I've got the Bose sub out of the car, but I'm nervous about prying up on the carpet covering the rear coilover mounting nuts. It feels like I'm doing something wrong by just yanking up the carpetted panel. Is there something I need to release back there? Do the side plastic panels have to come off?

Should just release, moving side ways then out.

bend it from beneath in the middle of the carpeted foam thing. It should look like a rising "delta", corporal "rank" insignia.

honestly kinda looks like you tore the foam there!
