I can get on for 50K with a 2005 May Delivery..or maybe May Build..I forgot.

Just wondered if anyone else is on the list?!?!

 

I just have my fingers crossed.

 

What kind of fool would get on the list to pay $440K for this performance:

0-60 mph: 3.5 sec
0-100 mph: 7.06
1/4 mile: 11:35 @ 129.5 mph
0-100-0: 11.6 sec, 882 ft
60-0: 104 ft
lateral acceleration (50 m skidpad): 0.95 g

when some here will tell you all you have to do is buy a TT and put a few bucks in it to achieve the same performance.

 

Same performance..maybe..but not nearly the same car!!!

 

I know a guy who has a Miata with a supercharged, balanced and blueprinted Mustang GT engine. Good for 500+ HP. He set up the suspension for the track and it pull over 1 G for sure.

On paper, it would blow away most cars - I drove it and it is a Sh*t box.

This is an extreme example for sure. AND Not to say that a 996TT with mods is crap -- I own one -- BUT sometimes the story on paper is not the story in person.

Now, if you said you drove the two back to back and had a similar conclusion, I would take notice.

if anyone is interested in getting the carrera gt, i know someone at beverly hills porsche who will sell the car at sticker. i ordered my tt from him, and he told me to order the gt instead (yeah right)

 

My contract is at sticker too...are they jacking up the prices other places??

 

honestly i dont know if the dealers are jacking up the prices. i do know that if you want one today it would be over. the only thing my dealer told me was that he could get it quicker than anyone else, and it would be at sticker. i just wanted to pass on the info i had to anyone who was interested in the car

 

they will say AT STICKER but when the car show up they'll jack it up.

 

All you guys criticizing Ben make me laugh, just remember that he's on the list to get a Carrera GT...

I know of one that actually sold for $700k from the dealer

we were on for a while for only 40 grand, not sure if it has gone up or the dealer is trying to stiff you. anyway we decided to pull out and try our luck in the used market eventually
