Question? Kinda nutty don't Flame!!

Well here is its I have a buddy who has built some of the fastest supra's in the world. He wants to rig a 2jz up in my porsche;) 1400 whp in a 2800 lb car:) First off it fits some minor work and a small support system for the motor. Half the price (25 - 30k) if not even less then the rebuild. More power hopefully less headaches. The car is worth nothing compared to what I have in it. So what you think. Would be a first! Prob get banned from 6speed def renlist, Supra guys might not like it;)

I know I talked about this 3months ago, been weighing all the options. Its this or have him get crazy with a gt3 motor but that opens all sorts of worms:(

Ps, Looking for something to play with don't care about the jap german mix.

if you want speed and it makes you happy then do it! its you car and your money no one elses, if you can do it and make it work, more power to ya! I'd def be curious to see how that turns out

love to see the finished product.

If you want to then do it. Hey from my son owning a 94 Supra I think the motors are great. I think the Supra tuners put awsome "reliable" system together. Good Luck and keep us posted, even if you get kicked to the curb for such a marriage.....j/k.

Why not, I guess???

Anything is possible.

MexicoBlue Jul 10, 2007 08:09 AM

Why not? Sounds like a blast.

Doesn't the Supra have an Iron block? Your car will definitely do wheelies with the extreme rearward weight distribution.

buddyg Jul 10, 2007 08:37 AM

I think it's your car do what you want. With that being said it will be a bastard 911. I would not do it myself.

hilarious

I’m curious as well; I for one love both cars.

But I personally, wouldn’t do it. The heart of the 911 is its flat 6 and the soul is in the suspension and balance which Porsche has spent years perfecting to give it the handling that we all love. Adding the turboed I6 will no doubt rocket you in the straight faster but I’m guessing your going to sacrifice control leaving the car feeling sloppy and unbalanced. A disservice to both Toyota and Porsche.

It wouldn't be the first engine swap! There is a ton of this DNA swapping going around...

KJM3 Jul 10, 2007 10:26 AM

I think it'd be SICK if you did it! I'd love to see it!

1400 rwhp! That's SO SICK!

Bad idea. It will end up costing a lot more than you think to make that work. Buy a Supra and keep the engine in it.

mclaren55 Jul 10, 2007 10:43 AM

Its not going to be that cheap, did you even price out a custom subframe yet for it? What tranny are you going to run, adapter plate? Top mount intercooler? How is the header going to be designed? At the end of the day, its not going to be just 25-30k. Personally if you want to do it, then just do it and who cares what anyone says. The only opinion that matters at the end of the day is your own.

Divexxtreme Jul 10, 2007 10:50 AM

Do it, Don. It's your money.:)

Joe Weinstein Jul 10, 2007 10:51 AM

I would choose a mid-engine body rather than a 911 to put a hot
motor in. My ideal Porsche would be a Cayman with wider wheels
and the GT2 motor.
