You won't believe it! SS snapped!
This past Sunday I was driving along, match shifted down to second and a very strange thing happened....the shifter knob fell off to the side and to the rear of the center console! YES! This is true! The B&M lever SNAPPED in half with little or no pressure! I will post pics up later this afternoon or tomorrow as I have been VERY busy at work.
The good note on this story is that I called up EVOMS and spoke to Nate (and Victoria) who both were very surprised with what happened...I naturally boasted to Victoria that I had been working out but certainly this did not attribute to the snapped lever...ehem...LOL...anyway...Nate is sending me a brand new unit free of charge that is made by them and says it is top notch and is comparable to the B&M...I accepted the offer for the set-up and it is on it's way now. I will set up a full test run and report as soon as possible on the new set-up but I really wanted to publicly say thank you to Nate for his attention to customer satisfaction, quick fix and a few laughs! More to follow and I am sure more to order from EVOMS in the future... Michael |
made in china?

not that I know of...the B&M is the same short shifter that Porsche uses/installs from what I am told and have looked up...they just are different colors or something like that...this is not something that I have heard of happening or know of...I believe it was a fault during production of the kit...it was just funny that it actually snapped! I have had SS in all my cars and never did this happen and everyone I have spoken to has said the same thing...

I heard from a little birdie that b&m is starting to or have been mfg overseas. not sure if it's true or not.

Ahhhh, ok...I will def post pics by tomorrow.
Thanks! How hard is it to remove and replace a SS? Mine was already in the car...hopefully it is nothing compared to the M3...what a B!tch.... |

the B&M SS's for the Supra used to snap - I broke 2 of them - and there are many others out there. they would never own up to the defect.

Thats not good to hear. Ive only heard good things about B&M SSs. Ive had mine for a while now and haven't had a single problem with it.
