I'm not sure if you are counting modified cars, but the same car that won the last TX mile @ 246mph has done the quarter mile in 7.91@168mph (if I can read it correctly). His 0-186 time would probably be under 10 seconds.

I read 188 mph in 7,9 Sec...
I have seen above car in action and this gets tricky because
DRAG CARS (above) are designed to go 0 to whatever quickly
and it isnt fair to compare them.
Many of the other 0-300 were done with relatively soft launch (mine at the TX MILE,
with my 0-100 KM having been 4.2 seconds....not very quick)

would like to see some more GPS time in the 200-300 kph range.
anyone?
e.g. this is very fast for a Z06 with Cams and Headers only.

60-130 times are less impressive.

I cant really see what that you soft launch it has to do with it :-) thats not an excuse you mean that the car cant take it ? so ppl that dont soft launch cheat :-).

The quicker you launch, the faster you are going, sooner, leaving more time to gain speed?
You can't really compare street times to drag times for 0-300 km/h. Many of those street times are done without prepped pavements which becomes a huge disadvantage for RWD cars which are traction limited to begin with. Even some AWD cars will have problems out of the hole. So a soft launch is almost necessary so you don't waste time fighting traction.
This one went 7.75 @ 180 mph. He would probably hit 186 in just under 8 seconds: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nu2uo66nP08
The top dog Supras and TT Vipers are running the 1/4 mile in high 7's/low 8's in the 180+ mph range. So...somewhere in the 8's.

Thanks Scott
But arn't engine/suspension/gearing..etc diffrence from drag to 1 mile race?
For example SW Supra...Shouldn't he change something on engine/suspension/gearing..etc from drag to 1 mile race?
Definitely tires, maybe suspension, probably not gearing.
But are you looking for the best time during a TX mile run, or dedicated 0-186? Honestly, SW's car, even in it's TX Mile configuration, is probably good for under 10 seconds 0-186.
