Cassette tape holder replacement?

My 01 has a cassette tape holder that hold 4 tapes just below the radio. Dumbest thing I've seen on the car. Did anyone still use cassette tapes in 2001?

Did all cars have this. Is there anything I can replace it with that would be more useful? Maybe a storage packet with a door on the front? Does anyone make something to fill this hole?

You can replace it with a extra cubby (which I did) or with the CD Holder. I know you can get both of them from Suncoast Porsche. There are other sponsors here also that can get you them.

When I first got the car I was like how the hell still listens to tapes in 02. The tape player in the dash was the best part though, Top Gun soundtrack never sounded so good LOL!!

Sounds like the extra cubby would be the way to go. Doesn't the car only take CD's in the trunk changer? Don't know why you would store them in the car.

03+ has a single cd in dash standard. cd holder is equally as dumb since it only hold a few discs. I'd get a cubby or just leave it.

Get a cubby and call it a day or add some additional gauges or a better double din head unit uptop and move your temp controls down... Plus, these tape and CD holders buzz and rattle at times...

Since we're in the cubby talk ... I'm curious if there is a "covered cubby" ... at times...during spirited driving ... stuff in the cubby flies out ... if there's such a thing is a "covered cubby"... it would be greatly appreciated...
