I wonder...

...will the front bumper scrapes the road, when you hard-brake with the Le Mans kit?!?

do they come in red calipers as well?

The GTR kit is only available in that finish.

I forgot to mention the best part.

Your stock 18's will fit over these brakes!

I drove Arling's (20C4S) tt which has the exact same setup. OMG, the stopping power is incredible. Literally stops on a dime.

Mike - what is the black covering that attaches the wheel hub to the brakes ?

Josh/AWE Apr 23, 2004 02:10 PM

That is called the Rotor Hat.

This kit is designed for extended high heat situations. (24 hours of LeMans type braking) It uses a floating rotor. This means that instead of the rotor being fixed, there is a certain amount of side to side play that will allow growth and prevent warping.

The hat and rotor are separate. The "floating" is achieved by hardware that has sprung clips.

Make sense? It's tough to explain.

I will try to dig up some of our file photos that may help you understand it.

Sweet - I have the non R version and the stopping power is phenomenal...was gonna upgrade but didnt wanna rebuild calipers every few k miles..

Darren - the black part is the hat (normal for 2-piece rotors)...It is made of aluminium...If you check my sig I had mine anodized silver which makes the brakes look even bigger :D

Mike - you sure these will fit stock wheels?? I highly doubt it...I tried the stockers on my 15" fronts and it did not work...
