It's getting ugly (08 Viper vs Z06)
Looks like there will be some interesting (and probably stupid) track battles coming up between the 08 viper (600 hp 550 torque) and the Z06. At least people are getting sick of the mag racing.
http://forums.corvetteforum.com/show...801069&page=28 So a guy is going to take his brand spanking new 08 to the track to battle the Z06's hilarioushilarious http://forums.corvetteforum.com/show....php?t=1801302 Here's where we come in. Well if you guys remember, I posted a "Damn the mag racing" thread a while back about a corvette and Porsche track day, well some one is actually doing it. http://forums.corvetteforum.com/show....php?t=1797574 If you keep up with corvette forum like I do, you'd know some of the vette boys like to go to PCA events and pick on the Porsches (though I havent see any in the highest run groups) so I was thinking we could get something like this going for ourselves. (i.e. VIR) So yeah I'm sprking the track day talk again. |
Could care less about a viperrrrrr or a z06... but after reading those comments i have come to 1 conclusion, those "american car guys" love to swear, f this and f that... they are pure class....
also why is this posted here, what does it have to do with a 996TT? |

Dez,
The track day for all would be a blast, Central US would be best for everyone's travel miles. Mid Ohio? Road America? (not exactly central us, but oh, what a great "turbo track"!!!!) Some track in Kansas? MK |

The stuff you are reading on Corvette Forum is very tame and mild to what they say on Viper Alley. It is good to see guys that have brand loyalty, but some of them have blinders on and can't see or admit the benefits of other cars or see the drawbacks of the one they are so rabidly defending. A Viper, a ZO6, a 996TT or a 997TT are all great cars in different ways. All very fast and all very fun to drive.
A track day where all makes are invited would be a lot of fun. I would love to spend the day tracking down Porsches/Vipers/Lotus/whatever - doesn't matter. As most of us have found out - there is always a faster car out there - whether it be in a straight line or around a track. That is what makes it so much fun to do track days and to get out and meet other car-guys that just love to have fun regardless of what you are driving. |

Heavychevy - Yes I have a Z06. It is my first car of this caliber for speed and handling and a lot of fun to drive. I am still getting used the capabilities of the car on the track. I am somewhat new to the scene of high horsepower and high $$ cars. I have have been out with fellow 6speedonline member Woodster - 996TT with mad power and a couple of his Viper buddies - both with supercharges. And also a gentleman with a Ford GT running 625RWHP. All of these guys have awesome cars and are fun to drive with. I am sure any of them would help us with their respective groups to set something up.
Tom - Always someone faster and more skilled, but it is fun to run with them and have some friendly competition. |
