Sounds like a great mod.

I was under the impression that some ecu tunes also had the effect of raising the rpm and improving shifts in a TIP. That has been my experience anyhow.

Please explain the overlap and if there is any advantage to having both ecu and tcu tunes to get the max benefit from stage 1 upgrade onwards.

Can you post a guide on how to remove the TCU please on a 2001 TT ?

I'd contact them directly, and not through the forum. Most vendors probably don't spend a ton of time in the Classifieds section. (I'm not saying that's right, just the way it is.) I have no experience with EvoMS, but have heard good things. I wouldn't write them off.

But you're right, it isn't right. Since they posted the interesting info here, they should at least follow up.

I also contacted them by PM...see above and no response. Difficult for me to call since I'm OS.
But, I'll be in Las Vegas next week, so LOL, it might be easier for me to drive to Tempe and see them in person.

Sorry for the delay. The TCU controller sets the shift point. In order for the shift RPM to be raised, both the TCU and the ECU rev limiters need to be increased. For example, if you set the TCU rev limiter at 7000 RPMS, and the ECU rev limiter is set stock at 6700 RPMS, the car will not shift. The ECU rev limiter will prevent the TCU from getting to the 7000 RPM limiter set in the TCU. BOTH TCU AND ECU rev limiters must be set properly in order to have the increased rev limit. Hope this helps.

We've completed the EVOMSit TCU upgrade on our recent EVT700 build and were SO pleased with the results! This is truly a must-have for anyone with a tip transmission. Quicker shifts, higher shift points...it makes the tip tranny perform the way Porsche should have done it!

Keep up the great work guys!

Could this be done on core swap basis? Since I'm in Japan I don't really to have a 1-2 week downtime for the car!
