$156 was the cost for mine at Circle Porsche. I did try to do it myself but couldn't not get the tank out do to hoses around the left side of the engine. The space was too tight to put my hand in to remove the hoses.

Have the local indy install it for me. He told me that he had to drop the engine half way to do the job. Total: $350 labor & parts.

Have you checked to see if it's just the cap or are you sure it's the tank?

I did this to mine, there's alot stuff to remove to make room to get the tank out....alot of wiggllng and fumbling around.... but def a DIY, you do not need to drop the engine on a NA, the TT needs the drop. It'll take @2-2.5 hours to do yourself.... If this has been done before maybe you should replace the cap as well... GL

Here's the advice from a guy in a different forum - seems to know what he's talking about... "it is likely either a leaking coolant tank cap (check the part number - if it ends in 00 then it needs to be replaced) or a cracked coolant tank."

I had never done a DIY project, but bought the tank from Sunset for $168 and did the install myself following the pictures and written directions from a DIY discussion thread on Rennlist. Do a search for coolant tank. Took about 2 hours to wriggle the tank out, then new one back in. I'm not a master mechanic by any means and if I did it, you should be able to do it also. The only ticklish part is making sure you don't break off the probe that fits into a recess in the bottom of the tank....read the DIY discussion thread....great pics to go \with the explanation.
