Who's car is this?

I love it.

Teuton Mar 17, 2008 11:37 AM

That's my friends car. He's a member of this board but he's not on here much. It's a fantastic car.

PM me if you want details.

Pete

I like the car, but wish he'd included some interior pics and also the rear. You might want to go over to Rennlist, I started the same thread there and it generated a little talk - not all good, but a lot based on conjecture.

Teuton Mar 17, 2008 01:01 PM

Yeah, I just saw that thread. I'm not worried about it. Everytime he lists the car for sale, I try to convince him to keep it.

deckman Mar 17, 2008 01:30 PM

The problem is there are three things in his ad that shouldn't be there. The Aero Kit is not factory installed, it's not a C2S (no such thing that year) and even though he may not have tracked it the car has been tracked.

People who are going to be interested in that car and willing to pay the premium he's asking are going to know what all his mods mean do research. The car looks like it stands on its own, so the only thing these claims do are raise red flags. If I were him I'd modify the ad.

Teuton Mar 17, 2008 01:34 PM

I let him know. As in the other thread, he'll update the add as I'm sure they where brain farts. He bought the car as it stands and has done nothing with it aside from baby the car with a diaper.

I think he just responded to that thread,

Pete

thats a beautiful 996! the wheels/drop really top it off as well :)

deckman Mar 17, 2008 05:38 PM

Couldn't agree more. That's why I asked originally, I think the car is gorgeous. The single thing I would change is the GT3 badge on the back to Carrera.

vick57 Mar 17, 2008 05:43 PM

that's a beautiful car. i think it's slightly overpriced at $45K.

p0rsch3 Mar 17, 2008 06:18 PM

Very nice ride- Asking a tad bit much though.
He really needs to take some better photos...

That's a real nice ride.

sick car!

dcentric Mar 18, 2008 04:56 PM

yeah, i think he's asking too much for it based on emotional attachment.

PTarga Mar 18, 2008 05:14 PM

For PA, which isn't far, I think that's a great price. There are quite a few around here with no mods and more mileage selling for 5-7,500k more. I also don't see the fuss with aftermarket body kits and tracked cars. Every person I know who tracks their car goes way overboard on their maintenance because you have to for DE inspections. Those are the cars you know have truly been serviced.
