Don't buy AP droplinks
 

I should have listened to others. After having my front end sound like it's falling off because AP droplinks won't stay tight, removing my front wheels 10+ times over the last couple of months to tighten them . . . you guessed it, my right front droplink broke. What a waste of 200+ bucks. Having to jack the car up and removing and installing the wheels was more of a pain then losing the money.

Dan at Vivid (after this thread, I guess I won't be receiving any refund from AP/Vivid) was nice enough to send these overnight to be matched up to GT3 sways. They immediately started loosening up and had to be retightened weekly if not earlier. After loosening up so many times I was not sure if they were properly adjusted for 0 preload so today I was taking my wheels off to set them up with 0 preload and loctite the length adjusting nut as well as install an extra nut to lock them together.

That's when I found the broken droplink. Now I know why they were so quiet. The clunking I always got was on the right side, even tho both sides loosened up.

So buy at your own risk. Time to go buy real droplinks.

Not a good product review for those drop links. Thank goodness something didn't bind or jam causing suspension damage or worse an accident. Another part crossed off my list.

I am amazed as well. I was considering buying a set to go with some GT3 sway bars down the road. Definitely not a glowing review by any means. The thought of having to constantly adjust them and the potential issues from them breaking makes them a serious no go.

For the sake of comparison, here's a set that I bought from GMG - look to be much better quality.

looks like the top of the rod end broke. been out of town for 6 days and have not seen an email or anything about his.

All you have to do is contact me and I will send you out a replacement. You can see it is the rod end that snapped off not the center CNC machine part that we make. The problem is that when guys run these GT3 bars, you are trying to stretch it to the furthest whole possible I bet. It also looks to me based on your pictures that you have 996C2 links, not links for a turbo, do you have a turbo? Call me and your problem will be solved.

I don't see a front drive shaft in those pictures, looks like a C2 to me...and he's on the middle setting on the front bar which is softer than that bar comes setup from the factory

And not to razz you but how many times do we have to see these threads on this board and that other board before you make a design change on these parts? Despite it not being the center CNC part that you make...part of a product that you sold still broke and caused a potential safety issue. You really shoudl consider sourcing parts elsewhere for these rod ends. If I remember correctly Karlooz and many others have been through multiple replacements of the rod ends prior to giving up on your product.

Ken, on the GT3 it is not necessary to remove the wheel...you can reach in behind the wheel (turn steering to opposite lock) to check for tightness and to tighten if necessary...don't know if your setup is similar...either trg, GMG or Tarett droplinks will do the job right

and.... IIRC that was 3-4 years ago, def a safety issue. Lucky noone has gotten hurt..... yet.

There might be a problem with this part but I have to say having a vender step up and post what he did here is a good sign.
If I had bought a part and it had broken just knowing that the vender would stand behind it would make me feel better.
