http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Cars-...1%7C240%3A1318

65k is high for milage but I'm still shocked to see one under $40k.

i found one like this 2 days ago in AutoTrader.com for 39,995, but it has 69,686 miles.

Scary but not unexpected....

I would think soon the turbo will only go for a few grand more than a similarly equipped normally aspirated car. The fear of expensive repairs vs the Daily driverness of the NA car.

I do think the floor on the turbos will be around 30k in a few years if not sooner, with the floor on a normal 996 being about 25k. Both for a car in decent shape for it's age but certainly not perfect condition. While I think a trashed normal 996 would go for even less.

i'd never buy a tawdry 911

MCM97 Nov 17, 2008 03:13 PM

we're already at $25k on 996's...even lower for 00-01's. I think you'll see the "floor" for 996's in the high teens ($17k-$18k) but the 996's with engine replacements should sell faster and demand a few more USD - at least in the $20's).

Not on 2001 models... Year to year comparison....

2001 turbo vs 2001 996 base. Sorry if I wasn't clear....

wow!! Not sure i like the wood trim, otherwise than that it looks clean inside. Great price, just like the stock market this is a deal.

996c2's will drop the same as 996 tt's
expect to see mid to high teens for 99-01 C2s
and 32-36k for TT's by 6/09
this is what a neg to flat resale mkt does for all highline cars....making it a great time to buy/trade up....and forget the $$ losses

Actually, the prices of the TT replacement engines has been tracking the resale of the cars. A couple years ago, a respiffed TT engine from a junker would set you back over $20k. Nowadays, the same engine can be had for not much more than what a dealer will charge for a NA engine.

I looked at an 01TT today with 25K miles for $43K.

PHIL2 Nov 22, 2008 05:50 PM

JEllis Nov 22, 2008 09:02 PM

Yeah it will be nice to have a 996 C2 DD in the near future at these prices!
