porsche 911 turbo rims on a 911 c2
I found a good deal on a set of rims off of a 2002 911 turbo. I was wondering if these rims would fit a 1999 911 c2. The tire size on the rear is 295/30/19.
Do these only fit widebody porsches?

NO!!!! The tires might fit, but the rims won't. The rear offset on a 1999 NB 996 is 65. The turbo wheels are more like 40, which means the wheels move out 20+mm. You will have rubbing with just about any tire you put on the rims. And spacers won't help as these decrease the offset, not increase it.

I don't think they will fit either. They are probably wider than the NB rear wheels along wtih the lower offset. As always, if you have the chance, just test fit the wheels you are looking at.

Also, if you want to get creative, you can have the wheels machined to give about 10mm in offset.
I did this with a set of aftermarket rear wheels with good results. It was done at a local machine shop that was recommended by a wheel repair shop.
It didn't compromise the wheel at all (I would argue it makes it stronger because it shortens the moment arm - simple physics stuff), and they have the right machines to make sure it turns true. The cost was like $20 or $30 per wheel.

By "machined" do you mean having the hub "machined" down so that the wheel fits neatly within the wheel well, and doesn't protrude outside of the car's profile? If that is what you mean, does that compromise wheel integrity? Sorry for my lack of proper technical terminology.
