Isn't the antenna in the shield at that position?
Ah.........no...you mean in my pic?
Actually the 996 antenna wire is dead center........it comes up from the dash, actually dissects the rear view mirror mount then at the top of the glass goes to the passenger side.........I think, if you look close, you can actually see it coming up in the center......right from the the little security syst light there.

IMHO the mirror setup doesn't buy you anything, and is very expensive to boot.

Most people mount the main unit to the side of the rear view mirror (so it has a clear line of sight front & back), so having the arrows in the rear view mirror seems redundant. Plus I feel the concealed display mounted on the steering column is the ideal location for the arrows, since you just have to look down slightly from your normal driving view.

Mirror Display on my car

I installed the mirror display (ebay) and mounted the V1 by the rear seats. And Before you ask, I run a lot of p-car tours here in Tx and always get the alarm at the same time as the cars with the windshield mount. So, I get the best of both worlds, stealth and V1 sensitivity.
Here's the mirror

and the V1

the bracket made of aluminum, bent into a Z and tucked under the bose subwoofer box
