for those without roll bars, where/how do you place your hot lap receiver in your 996's?

 

Which timer are you using? You might try asking this in the Racing forum on Renn. But be prepared for the obvious question: no roll bar? If you are serious enough to be using a hot lap timer to try and wring the last tenth out of your car, you should consider proper safety gear. Just my opinion.

FWIW, I think hot lap timers have very little utility at a DE. A GPS based timer will give way more useful data that can be analyzed, and a decent GPS unit is only a bit more than a hot lap timer.

don't care about tenths or even seconds. just a toy i picked up cheap. i do, however, like to know the best lap of the day. dd with kids in the back seat prevents use of a roll bar for me. a few track days a year doesn't justify the cost of the gps units for me either, but they are VERY cool.
