996 won't start
Car: 2003 Porsche 996 Turbo (6 speed manual)
Car is dead in a parking lot. Little worried. Bought a jump kit. Charged it overnight. Tried to get the hood open this morning and it wouldn't send power to pop the hood. Any help greatly appreciated. In a bad jam here. - No power at all - checked fuses (all are ok) - tried putting power to the side floor panel to open the hood (nothing) notes: - been having to turn the key a few times to get the car to start. Sometimes (usually in the morning) I'd turn the key...and it would prime the fuel pump, turn on the radio etc, but the car wouldn't even attempt to fire. A few tries and it would fire up. - installed a GT3 rear delete kit and had to shuffle the built-in radar detector (k40 I believe) under the Gt3 front console piece. Could that be the culprit? Those wires are like an octopus. |
You hooked the jump pack up to the fuse panel and it wouldn't pop the hood? - What did you use for a ground?

ok got into the hood. The jump pack wasn't grounded well. Had to clean off the door hinge a little better. Going to try my spare battery now. Post back in a few minutes

Good deal, You'll need a good charge to get it fired up... 996 generations are VERY picky about voltage - windows will go up and down, all lights will flash, radio on/off - car acts possessed on a low battery!
Good luck, now that you're in you should be able to get it going no problem. |
