Sat for awhile at idle, 3 hrs later wouldn't start
It was 94 degrees out, I was stuck in traffic idling for about 40 minutes, A/C cranked, stereo cranked. 500 watt amp into 12" sub, Alpine head unit and the rest stock. I have an iPod cable with a native iPod plug on the end and my iPod plugged into it. Parked and turned off for about 3 hours then when I went out to drive home the battery was dead. Got a jump from a co-worker and was on my way. So, is it the problem a function of one or all of the above? Does the iPod need to be disconnected when the car is off?

sounds like a old battery
go get it load tested at sears or any little auto place for free.
And if it's bad, upgrade time...optima battery! |
That is a big load under idle.

got mine from
http://www.1st-optima-batteries.com/red_top_battery.asp Optima 34R - reverse polarity.....neg on right, pos on left. Attached is an article (page 39) in the NORD STERN Feb 2003 in pdf.....submitted by By Steve Grosekemper, Windblown Witness (San Diego Region). Instead of aluminum, HDP (high-density polyethelene) can be used. I used HDP chopping board that I sacrified, (walmart special). I used that procedure..... good luck. jorge |
