value of '99 c2?

45k miles, factory aero, litronics, 6 speed, recent rear crankshaft and cam cover seals replaced. black on black with sport design wheels. does the engine work have a negative impact on asking price? your thoughts and advice are appreciated.

I'd say it's worth low 30's. My car also had the same leaks, RMS and cam bearing. Personally, I'd look for a car that hasn't had an RMS issue, there are enough out there for the same price. The factory aero kit really doesn't add much if anything to the resale value since it's a very subjective option. I wouldn't go above 32K for the car.

this car has lots of options...full leather, carbon package, crests in seats, power seats w/ memory, digital sound, traction control w/ abd, special rigid chasis, cd changer, carbon door sills and aluminum dials. sticker was 100k. in general, do all those options add value?

car also has a repainted front fender.

thanks again for your help.

Traction control is standard on the 996. Does it have PSM too (abd implies that it does)? And what's this "special rigid chassis"? Never heard of it. All of those other options really don't add a lot to the resale value of the car unless the seller finds somebody who particularly likes those options. I'm sticking with my $32K price. Most 996's are pretty loaded. I haven't seen very many that are bare bones!

That's assuming that the front fender damage was just due to a scratch? Why did they tell you it was repainted?

the owner "dinged the front fender and freaked out and wanted it back to new. says the repaint is not noticable.

i have a copy of the window sticker that list "special chasis rigidly tuned" for $690.

i'm more worried about the engine issues.

thanks for your help.

Tractional control was not standard on 99' 996's except the C4 and PSM was not yet available at all. The full leather and carbon and other options due add value but how much is up to the buyer. If it is a previous RMS repair that would decrease the value.

If you look on autotrader, it's hard to find a decent one less than 40K. Where are all these low mileage low 30K cars at? Well, was lookin at MY 00's though...

Acro, 2000 does not equal 1999...)

there is a diff in market value between the years. one doesn't get a 1 year newer car for free

regards
