I am looking at some HRE wheels and tires. I know they fit a Porsche 997, but will they fit without any spacers, etc. my 996 WB? I believe my OEM wheels are REAR 11J x 18 ET 45 (tires - 295 30 ZR 18) and FRONT 8J x 18 ET 50 (tires 225 40 ZR 18). The HREs are 19 inch 8.5 inch front ET51 and 11 inch rear ET57. Michelin Pilot tires are mounted with 295/30/19 in rear and 235/35/19 in front. Any help is greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance and thanks to those that already responded!

 

An optimum after market fit is generally within +/- 5mm of OEM. On that note, it would appear that the front rim will fit, and the rear will require a 5mm - 10mm spacer. Then again, I do not know your OEM ET figures. A 996 C2 NB is ET55mm on all four corners; a WB should be in the ET45mm range at the rear.

 

The OEM offset for a NB 996 is 65 for the rear, not 55. The higher the offset the further in the wheel is (i.e. toward the center of the car). Spacers move the wheel out, they lower the offset. The wheels you are considering are already a 57 offset and are 11" wide as opposed to the OEM 10". You could have a problem with rubbing with these wheels. Go to 1010tires.com and use their offset calculator. Input the width and offset of the current wheels and the new wheels and they will show you the effect. The wheel you are considering will be 21mm further out, which is quite a bit.
