996 strange noise!

I went to look at a 996 turbo 2003 and whilst sitting in the car with the engine running i heard a chaping noise! I honestly thought someone was chaping on the rear window thats exactly what it sounded like. Is seemed to be coming from inside the roof,i then noticed that the satnav/stereo wasnt coming on or going off properly. My mate thinks the noise which continued intermitingly during driving sounds like an audio noise. Im wondering if the problems are linked.
Has anyone heard of or experienced this problem?
The car has a sunroof which works perfectly so i dont think its that.

Thanks all.

It could be the sunroof bracket or frame is loose.

Is the stereo the factory Bose system? If so, it could be a bad amp.
I had both of these issues with my C2

Yes it's the factory bose PCM,the porsche (home) screen seems to go on and off by itself. It's a loud noise when it happens and is like something that would come from a speaker,it doesn't sound like something rattling around in the roof space.
What could be wrong with the rear windows?
