Carmax's offer
Thought I'd share this: Nothing most of us don't know already.
My car: 2002 C2, 25,000 miles, immaculate, Fabspeed exhaust, K&N, HR springs, new tires, JL audio, all the good stuff without bastardizing it... Their offer to me was $23K. Carmax in Fort Lauderdale. I love this car and not planning to sell till it hits about 60k but it says something about the value of these 996's these days. I wonder if the values will decrease further when the 991 comes out. Thoughts?? |

Absolutely. Aftermarket stuff is irrelevant. It doesn't matter. I do think the values have bottomed out though. It's still a relatively exclusive car. What do you think?
Wow, $3k under KBB fair trade value.
Carmax is notorious for lowball offers, then again who goes and sells their Pcar to Carmax (shame shame) :D
Too funny--These vehicles have no business at carmax. A Porsche dealer wouldn't give two s*%ts about a 2007 civic or an '05 impala and I guess it makes sense that a sweat-shop style at dealer specializing in stuff like that wouldn't know what the hell they were dealing with. Nothing to get upset about or over-analyze. They have no business dealing with a enthusiast's car like yours.
You can easily get close to $27,000 for that car
Last year KBB had my '99 with 52K "private sale" in excellent condition at $21k. I checked it yesterday with 56k miles and now its $23,500.00. As far as I'm concerned, its like a Visa Card commercial .... PRICELESS.

But why did you goto CarMax & waste their time when you didn't intend to trade or sell them your car from the beginning? i worked at a dealership when i was younger & people such as yourself used to drive me nuts lol..but i knew howto deal with them
Tarek, Part of carmax's marketing is to invite everyone to come in for an offer on their car. They are a machine when it comes to checking out a car and making a lowball offer. I didn't waste anyone's time.. In fact, they wasted mine.
no...since you're not planning on selling the car till it has 60k on it...you are what's called a STROKE
Haters got nothin to do but hate I guess. Just so you know, I have a close friend who does the estimates there and was happy to do it for me. Second, I've bought two cars from them. Third, stroke THIS.
nothing to do with hate...if you have a friend there then they didn't waste your time...nice try
Carmax lol PCar don't belong there period. DriveTime is another one of those dealers that high end sports and exotic cars don't belong.
