oil pressure gauge
I just bought a 2002 C4S with 30,000 miles. I have noticed that the oil pressure gauge tends to fluctuate a little...even when at steady revs/speed. This is my second 996 and my first one was very steady. Anyone have a similar experience.

I had mine flicker on a long fast uphill pull.... research suggested oil pressure sender or loose connection... I tweaked the connections and nothing since....
|
Thanks...hopefully that's all it is...

I have a 2003 C2 with 23k miles... Starting doing it recently. Exact same issue. Is there a DIY on Renntech/list with how to check connections?
|
I did see a diy on Rennlist for replacement of the sensor, which is what most think the cause would be. Have you sought any advice from your dealer/mechanic? If so, what are they saying?
|
I think these sensors are pretty flakey, I wouldn't worry unless you start getting error codes
|
Mine was doing the same thing all the time and was very annoying. It was less than $200 parts and labor for the dealer to replace the sensor.

Nice, my dealer wanted $490 to replace the part, and an independent wanted $400.

$68.53 for the part and $92.00 to install = $160.53 And that was at a Porsche Dealer |
