SC'ed 2002 Stalling at idle when warm??
Hey all, new to the Porsche community and couldn't be more excited. Anyway I just got a 2002 911 with a VF Supercharger kit and full Fabspeed exhaust. So far it's run great aside from one problem - it seems to stall after warm when idling. I'm pretty sure it's not a vacuum leak as there is a vacuum gauge so MAF? Running too lean? Thoughts?

With the SC in there that adds some unknowns.
But on a normal car perhaps crank position sensor throttle body dirty or egas motor issue |
Thanks would that explain why it only happens when warm?

There have been several reports of this happening with the crank sensor once the car warms up, yes.
|
Any other ideas? crank sensor seems to be OK....
|
Perhaps voltage/charging problems when the main cables heat up?
Had a similar problem on mine, and it was corrosion on the positive cable coming from the alternator to starter to positive terminal on the engine. |
check the 02 sensors

^^^+1..... But I'm betting it's your cats... They might be on the way out.
|
Do we have coolant temp sensors? I believe that's what it's called...or was it called the crank position sensor?...the B5 audi's would do the same thing, run fine and when hot at idle..the engine would die.

Up a few posts... yes CPS.

Cats are good, Fabspeeds with 950 miles on them. Seems to be sorting itself out though, previous owner didn't drive it much and the battery died a bunch - after running it a good bit the car seems to be getting more data and the idle is smoothing out. It's stopped throwing CELs too. I'm loving this VF kit and surprising 997s, C4S and turbos.... Not to mention it sounds like a fighter jet.
