Just got off the phone with the mechanic. The codes that came up were:
P0300
P0301
P0302
They were unable to re-create the initial issues. But they are going to change the spark plugs and the coils in a couple of the cylinders that the codes are referring to. Will hopefully get the car back tomorrow and problem solved. Considering that I just had this service done 2.5 months ago, is this something that is covered by the shop, or am i going to have to fork over another bundle of money?

 

It's tough to say on the money side, some shops are good with fixing something if they saw that it was their fault in the first place, but others will certainly charge you for everything.

Misfires without any other codes can be hard to troubleshoot. Hopefully it will not resurface.

 

Got my car back last night, and it is running great. I think better than before but not sure. Couple of plugs changed, coil packs, and cylinders tested, all is well....THANK GOD!!! Even better, no cost to me. The shop picked up the cost as this service was recently done. Great shop in Morris county, highly recommend, very prompt, honest.

I'm in Somerset County. Warren Township. Got to set up a drive with all us Jersey folk when the weather gets better.

Ya great results....the shop is PowerTech in Rockaway NJ. Good group of guys very knowledgable it seems and pretty honest.

 

Power Tech has an excellent reputation. A bit far for me to travel. Im in Bridgewater and use a really good guy in Califon. Glad to hear all is well.

 

Couple of plugs? i wouldve changed them all.....and changed "couple" of coils!

 

Well maybe your right about changing all the plugs and coils but I'm no mechanic. I have to trust that the shop tested what needed to be tested and replaced things according to what the codes revealed. I had just completed the 30000 mile service and both these things were done. I guess time will prove one of us correct. Hopefully me/mechanic!!!!
